DUTIES
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine, repetitive job duties.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with clients, family members, visitors, and government agencies personnel.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of laundry areas.
- Be personable with clients, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for our clients.
- Support the company’s philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas in the laundry room.
- Must be able to identify stains and types of fabrics, decide what chemicals solutions apply to remove the stains, decide spotting procedures, work in a fast pace environment, operate Dry clean machine, washers and Dryers, be able to do the needed maintenance of the equipment.
- Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. and separate those items that require special stain removal/treatment.
- Wash and dry soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. in accordance with established procedures.
- Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments,
- Remove dirt, dust, lint, grease, film, etc. from equipment and floor surfaces using proper cleaning/ disinfecting solutions.
- Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.
- Use protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious garments and linen and/or blood/body fluids.
- Assure that equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next shift.
- Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed.
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.
- Good English communication skills.
- Outgoing personality, with a passion for providing superb service.
- Able to follow instructions accurately, with minimum supervision.
- Able to stand/walk for full length of work-shift; and to lift 30 lbs. laundry bags, unassisted.
- Computer literate.
- Able to pass background and drug screening.
