UWRGS has grown into one of the leading water, fire, and mold remediation companies serving residential, commercial, and public-sector clients. As we continue expanding we are seeking a dedicated Mitigation Field Technician to join our branch in Deerfield Beach.
Position Summary
The Mitigation Field Technician is responsible for responding to emergency property damage, assessing affected areas, assisting customers, and performing water, fire, mold, and storm mitigation services.
This position involves water extraction, structural drying, demolition, cleaning, containment, equipment placement, job monitoring, documentation, and communication with customers, insurance representatives, and company management.
Our technicians are the face of UWRGS in the field. The ideal candidate is compassionate, professional, dependable, safety-focused, and committed to helping customers restore their homes or businesses after unexpected damage.
Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls and customer needs
  • Contact customers, schedule appointments, and arrive on time
  • Inspect and assess water, fire, mold, or storm damage
  • Explain the restoration and mitigation process clearly to homeowners and business owners
  • Obtain signed work authorizations and service agreements
  • Perform water extraction, demolition, cleaning, and structural drying
  • Set up, monitor, and maintain air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other restoration equipment
  • Apply proper containment procedures to protect unaffected areas, occupants, and pets
  • Follow applicable company procedures and IICRC standards
  • Take accurate moisture readings and monitor drying progress
  • Maintain daily communication with customers regarding job status and next steps
  • Upload detailed job notes, photographs, moisture readings, drying records, and other documentation 
  • Identify safety hazards and maintain a safe work environment at all times
  • Communicate professionally with customers, insurance representatives, subcontractors, and team members
  • Troubleshoot, clean, maintain, and properly store company vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, job site, warehouse, and work area
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and company events
  • Maintain all required certifications
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weeknights and weekends
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in water mitigation, fire restoration, mold remediation, construction, or a related field preferred
  • Three or more years of experience as a field technician preferred
  • IICRC certifications preferred
  • The company is willing to provide training and certification opportunities for the right candidate
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test and physical examination, when required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, computers, email, texting, and CRM software
  • Ability to learn new systems and technology quickly
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and maintain restoration equipment
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and dependable work ethic
  • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional when assisting customers during stressful situations
  • Willingness to respond promptly to emergency calls and work a flexible schedule
